Lunar Eclipse

On August 28th Hawaii was treated to a full Lunar Eclipse. Our position would provide some of the longest periods of "totality" anywhere. At about 11:30 the Earth's shadow started crossing the face of the moon.

Unfortunately, the forcast called for partly cloudy conditions so we didn't want to get our hopes up too much.

However, as the evening progressed, there were signs that we might catch a break in the clouds and every time there was a hole in the cloud cover I'd snap a picture.  Just before the moon went totally red, a huge mass of clouds passed over our house then remarkably, a hole appeared at just the right time!
