The 2003 Acura MDX

Refinements to the engine increase horsepower from 240 to 260. This new found power is fed to the ground through an all new compact 5-speed automatic transmission. Drive-by-wire throttle (like the NSX) has been added, eliminating the throttle cable between the gas pedal and the throttle body. This allows more precise control and gives the new Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) more latitude to modulate the throttle to help enhance control during acceleration, cornering and accident avoidance maneuvers.

Revised suspension settings combine with a 35 percent increase in dynamic torsional body rigidity to produce a smoother ride and improved handling.

There is now an available Acura DVD Rear Entertainment System with wireless headphones and remote control to give second row passengers the ability to enjoy videos or play video games without disturbing the front seat occupants.

Other enhancements include: Dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags, two new alloy wheel designs, auto-up driver's side window with auto-reverse, rain sensing windshield wipers (Touring Package only), and auto on/off headlights.
